Diallo has certainly been a major part of that season, whilst on loan from Manchester United for the whole season with Tony Mowbray’s side.
His form has even caught they eye of United, who are ready to include him in their FA Cup final plans next month so he can be part of the team.
Before he goes back to Old Trafford this summer, Diallo will be trying to help the Black Cats return to the Premier League themselves.
Life in the play-offs didn’t get off to a great start at the Stadium of Light however, with Luton star Elijah Adebayo opening the scoring after 11 minutes.
The lead did not last until half time though, with Diallo showing off his goalscoring prowess from outside the area, which is starting to become a bit of a signature.
A free kick was taken short to the former Atalanta youngster, who curled the ball into the far side of the goal in perfect fashion.
