A Manchester United fan has gone viral after burning his Cristiano Ronaldo shirt on camera – hours before a transfer back to the club was confirmed.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner spent six years at United and is regarded as a club legend.
Reports claimed he was prepared to join Manchester City at one point on Friday – and one fan saw red.
He recorded himself burning a ‘Ronaldo 7’ shirt in his garden, not knowing it’d actually end up useable.

Ronaldo told Juventus he wouldn’t play for the club again and he left training on Friday morning.
Manager Max Allegri confirmed the 36-year-old’s desire to leave in a press conference and confessed there were no hard feelings.
“Yesterday, Cristiano Ronaldo communicated to me that he has no intention of remaining at Juventus,” Allegri said ahead of Saturday’s clash with Empoli. “For this reason, he has not been selected.”
Allegri replied when asked if he was disappointed: “No. He made a choice. [Omar] Sivori, [Alessandro] Del Piero, [Zinedine] Zidane have come and gone. Juve remains and that’s the most important thing.”

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been asked about Ronaldo making a move to City.
Solskjaer, who has passionately spoken about how he could never play for the Red Devils’ bitter rivals, said he and Bruno Fernandes spoke to Ronaldo.
Per Fabrizio Romano he said: “Cristiano Ronaldo? We’ve always had a good communication. Bruno has been talking to him as well and he knows what we feel about him. If he was ever going to move away from Juventus, he knows we are here.”

“Cristiano is a legend of this club, the the greatest player of all time if you ask me. I was fortunate enough to play with him. I coached him when I got my job. Let’s see what happens.”
Hours later, an official statement confirmed the 36-year-old’s return.
“Manchester United is delighted to confirm that the club has reached agreement with Juventus for the transfer of Cristiano Ronaldo, subject to agreement of personal terms, visa and medical,” it was announced.
“Everyone at the club looks forward to welcoming Cristiano back to Manchester.”
