PSG remains in negotiations on Alli loan as Tottenham tries to replace midfielder England

The playmaker will
move to Paris, but only if a deal is agreed to by his current club and another
player can be brought in before the transfer deadline.

Discussions
with Tottenham on Dele Alli continue with Paris Saint Germain as the two sides
detail the specifics of a loan deal, Goal can confirm.

With
the arrival of former Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino reinforcing the
relations between the midfielder and the French giants, Alli has been
identified as a PSG target for weeks.

Spurs
and PSG are in discussions about a possible contract, which will be on loan and
include fees for the remainder of the season.

As part of that offer, there will be no option to purchase,
with Spurs not willing at this time to permanently let go of Alli.

The midfielder himself gave his approval to the deal, having
struggled in recent months to get regular matches under Jose Mourinho.

As the Tottenham boss is happy to reunite with his former
player, Pochettino has also accepted, now that he has replaced recently
announced Chelsea boss
Thomas Tuchel as PSG manager.

Currently, the one hang-up is Tottenham, who will not
sanction a contract without seeking a substitute first.

Nevertheless, PSG remains hopeful, with sources supporting
the goal that it is “not an easy deal, but always a possibility”

Since 2015, Alli has been with Tottenham, having signed for
the MK Dons club for an initial fee of £ 5 million ($ 6.9 m). The 24-year-old
midfielder has made 234 Spurs appearances in all competitions, scoring 64
goals.

This campaign, however, he has been fighting for regular
game time, making just four Premier League appearances.

The time of Alli with the club coincided with a consistent,
but trophyless, run near the top of the Premier League, including a trip to the
Champions League final for 2018-19.

Spurs are currently sitting sixth in the Premier League
ahead of Thursday’s replay of the Champions League final against Liverpool. As
things stand, Tottenham are one point behind the Reds in the table, while the
Premier League champions of last year have a game in hand.

On the other hand, PSG are once again on top of Ligue 1, on
points with Lille ahead of the visit to Lorient on Sunday.
