Rasmus Hojlund has disclosed what Casemiro said to him after their heated exchange during Manchester United’s match against Arsenal.
Hojlund, who was acquired by the club for £72 million during the summer, made his debut for Man United in their disappointing 3-1 loss at the Emirates last Sunday.
However, he left a remarkable impression in his inaugural appearance for the Red Devils, with a video compilation of his performance quickly going viral on social media.
Erik ten Hag and Gary Neville both praised his performance on the pitch, as did Casemiro, who had a physical encounter with the star forward, grabbing him by the shirt after he entered the game.
The 20-year-old said the veteran Brazilian midfielder liked what he saw from him against the Gunners, revealing what he told him during their interaction.
“He just said something in Spanish, ‘vamos’ or something like that,” he said as quoted by @UtdPlug.
“He was happy that I gave the team perhaps a slightly different dynamic than what you get from Martial.
“After all, he hasn’t seen me play before. So he told me he was pleasantly surprised to see me play.”

On his Man United debut, Hojlund added: “It was great to put on the shirt and play my first minutes as a Manchester United player. We almost won, even though we didn’t. But of course I’m happy and proud to have made my debut.
“There has been a lot of interest, but for me Manchester United has always been my priority.”
The Dane’s performance was appreciated by his manager, critics and fans alike – but he doesn’t pay attention to the praise as he remains focused on the task at hand.
“To be honest, I didn’t really pay attention to it,” he continued. “I focused on my return to Denmark. Of course, it’s hard not to see it, but I didn’t put too much energy into it.”
Hojlund could start for Man United when they resume their Premier League campaign against Brighton following his cameo.
