During the FA Cup semi-final against Man Utd, Solly March blasted his penalty over the bar.
Interestingly, he missed the exact same spot-kick earlier in the League Cup against Charlton, which led to Brighton’s elimination from the competition.
On Sunday evening, Solly March was the unfortunate villain at Wembley as he blazed his crucial penalty over the crossbar, leading to Brighton’s elimination from the FA Cup.
During the match, Brighton and Manchester United had produced a dull encounter, which extended into extra time and eventually penalties.
As each taker successfully converted their spot-kick, the responsibility of the 13th penalty in the shoot-out fell to March.
March had attempted to place the ball into the top right corner, but unfortunately, he dug under the ball, sending it flying over the crossbar.
Fans quickly noticed that March had attempted the same technique earlier this season when Brighton was eliminated from the League Cup by Charlton.

One fan observed: “Identical. Very strange as most of his shots in play go along the ground.”
“Solly March probs shouldn’t be on pens. Exact same penalty in the league cup. Awful pen taker,” a second added. While a third tweeted: “Jeez Solly March tried the same pen as back in December the League Cup…Poor lad!”
“Penalty aside…was absolutely class yesterday, Solly March, blows my head off that he isn’t linked with the bigger clubs,” a fourth tweeted. And another added: “I’ve now seen Solly March sky one pen in front of me at Charlton, and now again at Wembley…”
March was spotted in tears as he left the pitch at Wembley, with his Brighton teammates trying their best to console the Englishman.

Following their victory over Brighton, Manchester United will now have the opportunity to win their second cup of the season, but they must first overcome the challenge of Manchester City in the final.
City, who are still on track for the treble, were dominant in their semi-final against Sheffield United, with a hat-trick from Riyad Mahrez securing their place in the final. Additionally, they are in a strong position in the Premier League and Champions League, with both trophies within their reach.
