The former Chelsea man was in the thick of the action as he set up Henrikh Mkhitaryan in the 26th minute.

He showed off his silky footwork before sliding a lovely pass to the ex-Manchester United winger, who tucked home from inside the box.

The first Serie A goal of the Jose Mourinho era at Roma is scored by… Henrikh Mkhitaryan 👊

Fiorentina hit back through Nikola Milenkovic, but Roma wasted no time in regaining the lead – and again, Abraham was influential in his new side’s goal.

He latched onto a through ball and superbly picked out Jordan Veretout at the back post.

The Frenchman made no mistake in front of goal, stroking the ball into the back of the net.

The former Bristol City loan star, who scored 23 Championship goals in the 2016/17 season, was also involved in Fiorentina’s red card.

He raced onto a lofted pass before being taken out by Bartlomiej Dragowski, who received a straight red card.

Abraham was replaced in the second half and his effort up front was greatly appreciated by Roma fans, who gave him a tremendous reception.
