Thomas Tuchel Will ‘Definitely’ Sell Two Chelsea Stars In Summer Transfer Window

Glen Johnson believes that Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel will axe Callum Hudson-Odoi and Tammy Abraham for the “right offer” this summer.

Hudson-Odoi, 20, scored five times and registered five assists in 37 appearances across all competitions for Chelsea last season.

When Tuchel initially came at Stamford Bridge following the sacking of Frank Lampard, the Chelsea winger saw more action in the Premier League.

Hudson-Odoi, on the other hand, was relegated to the bench for Chelsea’s Champions League matches following the round of 16.

Hudson-Odoi was strongly linked with Bayern Munich during the previous transfer window, but Chelsea rejected down a stunning £70 million approach for the England international.

In 32 games last season, Abraham scored 12 goals and added six assists, but he has subsequently fallen out of favour under Tuchel.

Under Lampard, the 23-year-old striker began to see more action, although he was left out of Chelsea’s squads for the Champions League and FA Cup finals.

Abraham has been linked with Premier League teams West Ham, Aston Villa, and Arsenal this summer, with his current Chelsea contract expiring in 2023.

Johnson, a former Chelsea player, believes the Blues will move both Abraham and Hudson-Odoi this summer.

The 36-year-old told BettingOdds: “I think if they get the right offer for Callum Hudson-Odoi or Tammy Abraham this summer, then they will sell them. Definitely.

“Regarding Callum, it’s just not clicking for him, is it? He’s in and out the side and I don’t think the manager thinks that he can rely on him.

“He’s sensational when he wants to be but you can’t survive in the Premier League by performing when you want to. You need to perform week in, week out. I don’t think he has the type of mentality that you need to work under Thomas Tuchel.

“I think he will go on to have a fantastic career, but he needs to find the right club to flourish.”
