A Chelsea fan said “get Werner out of the club” on the microphone during the club’s open training session on Wednesday.
The European champions allowed supporters into Stamford Bridge so that they could get some insight into what goes on behind the scenes in Thomas Tuchel’s squad.
But there was controversy as one fan used the opportunity slam striker Timo Werner when asked to give a score prediction.
In a video doing the rounds on social media, the supporter said: “Let’s have it right, get Werner out of the club”.
He was roundly booed by other supporters in attendance, with one woman in particular extremely unhappy with what was said.

Werner was on the pitch when the fan told him to leave and would have heard the comment on the tannoy.
In his first season in England following a £47.5 million move from RB Leipzig, Werner scored 12 goals in all competitions, including six in the Premier League, as the team won the Champions League for the second time in their history.
Despite his struggles and missed chances, the 25-year-old has received plenty of support from the Chelsea faithful on social media following today’s remark.
Some have even asked for the fan to be banned from attending Chelsea games. |
Whoever said get Timo Werner out, you’re actually embarrassing.

I don’t support Timo Werner because he’s a nice guy and he works hard, which are both true; I support him because he was arguably out most important player last year. We don’t score the goal that won us the champions league. Teams have to set up different because of his dynamism

To the fan who told Timo Werner to get out of our club at the open training session .. No, how about you get out of our club! Pathetic, unnecessary behaviour .. We don’t need people like you in our fanbase!

The “fan” who spoke out against Timo Werner via the open mic in the stadium should be banned from Stamford Bridge for life, please make it happen @ChelseaFC

More positively, the open session provided an opportunity for supporters to see new signing Romelu Lukaku up close and personal.
10 years on from his move from Anderlecht as a 17-year-old , the Belgian striker has returned to West London in a club-record £97.5 million switch.
