Lionel Messi received an epic introduction to Paris Saint-Germain fans at the Parc des Princes after he walked onto the pitch to the Chicago Bulls’ iconic theme song.
PSG head coach Mauricio Pochettino confirmed that the 34-year-old Argentine superstar would not make his debut against Strasbourg on Saturday.
Earlier reports suggested that Messi would be presented to the Parc des Princes faithful at half-time.
However, PSG marked their first home Ligue 1 match of the season with a presentation of their summer signings.
Achraf Hakimi, Georginio Wijnaldum, Gianluigi Donnarumma and Sergio Ramos were already on stage ahead of Messi’s arrival.

Messi made his way out to the pitch as the Alan Parsons Project’s ‘Sirius’ played in the background, with the PSG new boy receiving a spine-tingling reception from fans.
‘Sirius’ is still used by the Chicago Bulls as their introduction theme, but it is fondly remembered by fans during the basketball side’s legendary run of six NBA championships between 1991 and 1998.
