Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Wants TWO More Signings Before Transfer Window Shuts, Man United Reignite Interest In £90m Duo

Manchester United are prepared to continue their summer spending spree as part of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s plans to sign two more players, according to reports.

Tom Heaton arrived at Old Trafford on a free transfer from Aston Villa before United splashed out a hefty £73m to land former Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho.

Solskjaer also reinforced his defensive options with United’s stunning swoop for Raphael Varane in an initial £34m deal with Real Madrid.

However, the 48-year-old United manager wants to continue building on his squad depth with two more signings before the transfer window shuts on 31st August.

According to 90min, Solskjaer is targeting a full-back and midfielder for his United squad.

The Red Devils have been heavily linked with a move for Atletico Madrid right-back Kieran Trippier this summer.

And 90min reports that the 30-year-old former Tottenham full-back and his representatives have informed United about his desire to move to Old Trafford.

Trippier’s camp believe that Atletico would be prepared to engage with offers in the region of £30m, but the Spanish club remain firm on their £50m price tag.

The England international would provide additional competition for Aaron Wan-Bissaka, but United are unlikely to meet Trippier’s £50m asking price considering he turns 31 in September.

Another reported target for Solskjaer is Wolves star Ruben Neves, who has been subject to intense transfer speculation this summer.

Neves, who was also linked with Arsenal, arrived at Wolves in 2017 from Porto in a deal worth around £15.8m.

The 24-year-old Portuguese midfielder could leave Wolves this summer if United match his £40m price tag.

The Red Devils are hoping to sell unwanted players this summer and secure the transfer fee needed for Neves.

Andreas Pereira is set to leave United in a loan move to Brazilian side Flamengo and Jesse Lingard has been linked with a potential transfer to West Ham.

However, Solskjaer has revealed that Lingard remains part of his plans and the 28-year-old’s “first priority” is getting back into the United first team.

“Jesse’s first priority is to get into our team. I think we together can have great moments,” he said.

“Of course, as a manager, it’s difficult to say that this weekend you’re not playing.

“I’ve got to leave players out from the squad as well as the starting XI, but they all need to remember they will all play a part if we are going to be successful.

“Jesse is back to his fitness and has come back bubbly and in good shape, so he has a good part to play.”

United kicked off their Premier League campaign with a stunning 5-1 demolition of Leeds United at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils will return to action on Sunday when they travel to St Mary’s for their Premier League clash with Southampton.
