Arsenal fan goes viral with response to Liverpool supporter mocking their tactics against Man City

An Arsenal fan has gone viral following his response to a Liverpool supporter mocking their tactics against Manchester City.

The points were shared at the Etihad as Man City and Arsenal played out a drab goalless draw on Sunday.

The draw saw Liverpool stay top of the Premier League table following their 2-1 victory over Brighton.

After Man City’s game against Arsenal, Pep Guardiola picked his favorite to win the league.

On social media, the tactics used by Mikel Arteta were slammed by Liverpool fans.

X user @ShaunlfcT shared an image of Arsenal’s defensive set-up against Man City, accompanied with the caption: “People can say what they want about Klopp but at least he had a go in these games and played the way he believed, this is football terrorism.”

Arsenal fan @HawkesCr7 fired back with a clip from their clash in February.

Of course, the Gunners beat Jurgen Klopp’s side 3-1 at the Emirates, with Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard all getting on the score-sheet.

And the X user uploaded a video of their opening goal, captioned: “Guess Klopp should’ve set you lot up the same way here pal.”

Arsenal remain in second place following their stalemate against Man City, improving their points tally to 65 – two points behind leaders Liverpool and one point ahead of Guardiola’s side.

Speaking after the result, Arteta hailed his team’s defensive work.

“It was a thrilling game, a really tough match, a very demanding opponent but I think we competed really well,” he said. “Defensively, I think we were outstanding. We had to go and put them under pressure higher up the pitch – I think we were really good and created a lot of difficulties.

“When they are that good that they get you in this low block, it’s very difficult to get out of that, they drop a lot of players and I think we prevented the spaces really well and that’s the difficulty. It’s the first time they haven’t scored at home in three years, so that’s the outstanding team that they are.

“And then the downside is that we had some big situations to score, we didn’t make the most out of them and the next step is with the ball to have much more composure, especially in the first phase to attack better.”
