Ivan Rakitic is a Croatian professional footballer who plays for Sevilla and the Croatian National Team. Rakitic was born on 10th March, 1988 in Rheinfelden, Switzerland. However, he never played a senior international for the nation of his birth.

Ractic started his career from afar cup to play for a baseball. After he showed his appearance in the swiss super league in Basel. In the second season of league he establishes himself and score 11 goals in 33 super leagues. After 2006-7 super league, he was named best player and awarded swiss goal of the year.

José Mourinho identified him as “one of the most underrated players in the world” after he scored only one goal against Real Madrid.

In 2018,before worldcup,PSG(Paris Saint-Germain) offered barcelona $90m for ractic but barcelona deny this offered.

In October 2019 the player stated: “I want to play, and not just enjoy walking around Barcelona and the sea. I talked to the people in the club, everyone knew about the other options I had, it was no secret.”

After Barcelona lost to Bayern Munich in the Champions League semi-finalcoach Ronald Koeman informed Rakitić that he was not part of upcoming games, alongside teammates Luis Suárez, Arturo Vidal and Samuel Umtiti. Rakitić held the record for the European non-Spanish player with the most appearances in its history.

In his last season for Barcelona in laliga, he played 36 matches, his goal only one goal and assist just 3 goals. In CI, he played 9 matchesscore nothingand assist 1 goal only. In COPA, played 2 matchesscore of and assist 1 goal.

During his presentation at Sevilla, ex-Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic was asked whether Arturo Vidal played more than him last season because he was friends with Leo Messi.

“I don’t know about that. I always wanted to be available for the coach and there were some decisions I didn’t understand, but I accepted them for the good of the group,” the Croat responded, as quoted by Diario Sport.”I can’t say we were best friends but Leo has always treated me well. Rakitić signed for Sevilla on a four-year contract, returning to the club after six years for a nominal €1.5m fee on september 2020.
